STRAY ANIMALS

ON-BASE STRAYS

If you are aware of stray (lost, abandoned, or street) animals on base, please contact the Civil Engineering help desk.

Pest Control has the proper equipment to safely capture stray animals and transport them to the Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF). Do not attempt to catch stray animals yourself. Please do not feed or interact with the strays, as recommended by the VTF; strays can become aggressive due to fear or a lack of human contact.

However, if you have already caught a stray on base, please contact and take the animal to the VTF. They will examine the animal and provide any necessary care. They will be held for up to 72 hours to allow anyone to claim their pet, if lost or abandoned. The animal may be transferred to Homeward Bound Osan if capacity is available. If unclaimed during the stray hold period, it will either be placed for adoption or rehabilitation. We are currently working alongside the VTF to process release procedures.

OFF-BASE STRAYS

The Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF) cannot accept strays that are found off base. Homeward Bound Osan can only receive strays once they have been transferred to us by the VTF. Therefore, neither the VTF or Homeward Bound Osan can accept strays found off base.
